What happens after you sign up

Signing up itself takes two minutes. Three things follow:

  1. 1You receive an email with a confirmation link. Your account becomes active only once you click it – check your spam folder if it does not arrive.
  2. 2You then land in the dashboard and can immediately add customers, write quotes and invoices, and capture receipts.
  3. 3The trial runs for 14 days. No payment details are required for it – you decide afterwards whether to take out a subscription.

A sensible place to start

You will get furthest fastest by first completing your company details and your invoice number range – both go straight onto every invoice. After that, add a customer and write a first invoice; whether it goes out as a PDF or as an e-invoice in the XRechnung or ZUGFeRD format is a decision you make per invoice. If you are using the trial to migrate, continue your number range where your previous software left off, so that no invoice number is ever issued twice.

Which details we need, and why

Your email address and password belong to your account. The company details are not needed for the registration itself but for your invoices: that is where they appear as the sender, and without complete details an invoice would be missing information German law requires under section 14 of the VAT Act. You can change these details at any time in the settings. The confirmation that you are acting as a business is required because KlaroFin is a tool for freelancers and companies, not a consumer product.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored with processors inside the EU. What exactly is collected and on which legal basis is set out in our privacy policy. If you need a data processing agreement as the controller, you will find it under DPA. And if you want to remove your account together with all its data, that process is described under Delete account.
